| GENERATION CHALLENGE IN THE ITALIAN FORMULA 3 CHALLENGE |
11/05/2011 - Another exciting racing season for the Italian Formula 3 Championship is going to begin in Franciacorta this coming weekend. The season opener of the 46th edition of the prestigious tricolored series powered by Fiat Powertrain Racing engines will feature once again high level drivers and teams.
Interesting will be the generation challenge between young talents strong of several racing seasons in the series and very young rookies having high ambitions.
From the one side one can find drivers like Daniel Mancinelli (RP Motorsport), big protagonist of the past season when he fought for the title until the last round and Edoardo Liberati (Team Ghinzani), very fast in pre-season tests; both of them will aim at the title strong with their experience in a series with extraordinary formative value.
On the other, rookies like the Californian Michael Lewis (Prema Powerteam), also very fast in tests and the two pupils of the Ferrari Driver Academy, the Swiss Lello Marciello (Prema Powerteam), just 16 years old and the French Bandon Maisano (BVM-Target) want to shoot ahead and shine not only in the rookies classification.
Spectacle on track will therefore be thrilling and as always will be live on Italian TV (coverage of the races on Sunday at 10.00 GMT+2 and 14.00) on RaiSport2.
