AGOSTINI AND CHEEVER ON TOP IN RED BULL RING'S FREE PRACTICE
Riccardo Agostini (JD Motorsport) has been the quickest on the dry Austrian track, in the afternoon the “rain king” has been Eddie Cheever (Prema Powerteram). Kevin Giovesi (Ghinzani) secured a very good second time on the wet.
03/08/2012 - Two free practice sessions have taken place today at the Austrian circuit of Red Bull Ring. This morning Riccardo Agostini on the Mygale of team JD Motorsport set the pace: the driver from Padova stopped watches in 1'26''746 relegating the French of Ferrari Driver Academy, Brandon Maisano, to 4 tenths. Behind the ruler of Misano was his team mate Eddie Cheever, only 72 thousands slower.

The virtual second row was completed by the third driver of Prema Powerteam, Henrique Martins. Fifth was BVM's, Mario Marasca who set his best time in 1'28''071, that was 41 thousands less than Nicholas Latifi on the second Mygale of team JD Motorsport. The returning Robert Visoiu (Ghinzani) followed and Euronova's Sergey Sirotkin completed the fourth row.

The ninth time was obtained by the Swiss of BVM Patric Niederhauser who is back on the Dallara belonging to the team led by Giuseppe Mazzotti after the good performance obtained in GP3.The tenth time was set by Kevin Giovesi (Ghinzani) who proceeded Yoshitaka Kuroda (Euronova)

Rain dominated the afternoon session and the rain king was Eddie Cheever as he set the quickest time in 1'41''717. Behind him, the Milanese Kevin Giovesi who was a full 1.5 seconds slower on the car lined up by team Ghinzani. Riccardo Agostini (JD Motorsport) was third, 6 tenths adrift the Ghinzani's driver. Henrique Martins (Prema Powerteam) obtained again the fourth place, showing to be at ease on the winding Austrian circuit.

Patric Niederhauser (BVM) and Brandon Maisano (Prema Powerteam) followed as the Swiss was just 8 thousands of a second behind the Brazilian of Prema, while Maisano was 2 tenths slower than the two.Sergey Sirotkin (Euronova) obtained the seventh place and was followed by the youngest winner of an Italian Formula 3 race, Robert Visoiu. The last three places went to Nicholas Latifi (JD Motorsport), Mario Marasca (BVM) and Yoshitaka Kuroda (Euronova).

Qualifying will decide race one's starting grid tomorrow at 9.25 (GMT+2). The first race of the weekend will start at 14.40 with live coverage on Rai Sport 2 and on www.acisportitalia.it/F3
