NICHOLAS LATIFI AND GERARD BARRABEIG IN FORMULA 3
The Canadian driver signed with team BVM, while the young Catalan driver coming from Formula Abarth will side Robert Visoiu at team Ghinzani. Two more protagonists are therefore to be added to the starting grid of the Italian Formula 3 European Series 2012.
22/03/2012 - Debuting on a single seater, starting from Formula 3, is never easy but Nicholas Latifi, Canadian driver class 1995 has all what it takes to be one of the surprises of the Italian Formula 3 European Series 2012. Latifi comes from the North-American karting world and is the new winner of the Florida Winter Tour DD2; next 1 April he will be at the Ricardo Tormo of Valencia on the Dallara FPT belonging to team BVM.

Giuseppe Mazzotti, team owner of the Italian squad spent a few but rather incisive words on the Canadian talent: "We have all been positively surprised by how quickly Nicholas adapted not only to a Formula 3 but also to a single seater. He comes from karting and the move to a Formula challenger is not easy. He proved to be very fast in learning the working methodology despite running not very many kilometers. This will be a crucial aspect for the coming season where everything will be new to him".

Another certain protagonist of the continental series of the Italian Formula 3 Championship will be Gerard Barrabeig. The Catalan driver born on August 10 1994 signed an agreement with team Ghinzani after long negotiations and the test at Hungaroring. Barrabeig, winner last year of the Formula Abarth rookies classification, said to be really satisfied and happy to be racing in the Italian Formula 3 European Series after a learning season in the smaller series of the Italian federation. The Catalan has also been protagonist at the end of the last season of the Federal CSAI-FDA Supercourse where he first tested the F3 Dallara car. Piercarlo Ghinzani commented Barrabeig's arrival at the side of the Romanian Robert Visoiu "The kid is really determined and fast, I think I have two great horses on my side for this coming championship".
